The scaret letter
Hester commits adultery. She discovers she has became pregnant. The town people new right away, since her husband has been gone for a few years. he is punished and put in jail because she would not give up the fahter's name. She ended up having her daughter Pearl in jail. Months later she was release on the terms that her child would be raised of Christian faith. They also demand that she wore a scarlet color A, for adultery everywhere she went to show everyone what she has done.

ReplyDeleteI liked your summery of the scarlet letter, but I think that it goes so much deeper. I think there is a lot to be said about repentence and how we judge others secret sins without looking at our own.
